Levels of Longevity Map Angelina explores
Angelina Saunders is one of 100+ experts in the Live Beyond Project — a father & son quest for longevity.
Discover Live Beyond →Angelina Saunders is a breathwork teacher in Australia who, together with her partner Shane Saunders, helps people use the simplest longevity tool there is: the breath. Marek and Aleksander filmed a breathwork session with them in January 2024 — part of the Australian leg of the quest.
Breath sits right in Longevity Basics on the Longevity Map, alongside a daily practice Marek now swears by: five to ten minutes of box breathing. It costs nothing, needs no equipment, and works anywhere — a few slow, structured breaths pull you out of stress, steady the nervous system and sharpen focus. Angelina and Shane teach it as a skill you build, not a trick you try once.
Theirs is one of the family pairs the quest kept meeting — two people doing the work together, which is part of why the interview felt like family too. On the Map, Angelina anchors the point that resilience can be trained, one breath at a time.
In Australia we sat down with Angelina and Shane — breathwork masters — and did a session together. Of everything on Longevity Basics on the Map, the breath is the one I keep coming back to: five to ten minutes of box breathing, every day. It’s free, it’s always with you, and it changes your whole state.
“The breath is the one tool you always have with you — and it changes your whole state in minutes.”
— Angelina Saunders, Australia
“Simple breathing — slow exhales, box breathing — pulls you out of stress, lifts your focus, and takes only minutes a day.”
Angelina Saunders · On the power of the breath · AustraliaThe breath is the free, always-available reset — the nervous system is something you can actually train.
Angelina SaundersFive to ten minutes of box breathing a day is one of the simplest, most repeatable things anyone can start today.
Angelina SaundersYou don’t need equipment or a studio. You need a few slow, structured breaths — and the willingness to do them daily.
Angelina SaundersA short guide to why the breath earns its place in Longevity Basics — and how to start today.
The practice Marek adopted from the quest: inhale for four, hold for four, exhale for four, hold for four — tracing the edges of a square. Five to ten minutes is enough to calm the nervous system, sharpen focus and build steadiness under pressure. Do it daily and it becomes a reliable off-switch for stress.
“Trace the edges of a square, and breathe.”
Australia · from the interviewBreathwork isn’t just relaxation — it’s training. Slow, structured breathing shifts you out of fight-or-flight, lifts heart-rate variability and teaches the body to recover faster. Over time you don’t just feel calmer in the moment; you raise your baseline resilience.
“Resilience can be trained, one breath at a time.”
Australia · from the interviewAngelina and Shane teach as a pair — and that’s part of the point. Breathwork, like most The basics stick better shared: a partner, a friend, a family. It echoes the whole Live Beyond premise, a father and son doing the work side by side.
“The basics stick better shared.”

Marek Piotrowski“I meditate or do five to ten minutes of box breathing. It’s a structured, rhythmic practice that brings steadiness — a reliable way to cultivate calm and sharpen focus against daily stress.”
