Who they are

The road to a post-aging society

The Longevity Biotech Fellowship (LBF) exists to turn talent into longevity biotech. It’s a non-profit community — part of LessDeath, a Californian 501(c)(3) — that helps people build, join or invest in revolutionary anti-aging projects. Fellows go through an immersive retreat, ongoing mastermind and project groups, and local chapters that keep the momentum going all year. It sits at the scientific core of the movement, and one of its co-founders, Nathan Cheng, is already part of the Live Beyond story.

Immerse

The retreat

A multi-day residential retreat of workshops and talks — where fellows meet collaborators, mentors and future co-founders in person.

Sustain

Masterminds & projects

Ten-week mastermind groups and project working groups keep fellows building together long after the retreat ends.

Spread

Local chapters

City chapters around the world bring the fellowship’s energy local — a network of builders you can actually meet.

What Nathan told us

Marek

What is the Longevity Biotech Fellowship?

Nathan Cheng

My mission, broadly, is to get as many people and resources as possible focused on actually solving this problem of aging. So I co-founded the Longevity Biotech Fellowship — a nonprofit that’s trying to get really smart people who are interested in longevity and aging, connect them together, give them context on what’s going on in the space, connect them with mentors, and actually create new projects, companies and research. We’ve been doing it for about two years now — I’ve run five fellowship cohort retreats.

How does it work?

Nathan Cheng

We curate. People apply, and we screen and interview every single person to find really talented people who are mission-aligned on solving aging. We bring in industry mentors — it’s four days, super intense, usually out in the forest. And it works: one company, Oden Labs, was started by a couple of our alumni who met through the program.

Co-founded by Mark Hamalainen, Nathan Cheng and Jun Axup.

We inspire people to care about longevity; the Fellowship turns the most driven of them into the scientists and founders who will deliver it. We send them your way; you welcome our community into the science. A shared road to a post-aging society.
