Levels of Longevity Map Phil explores
Phil Newman is one of 100+ experts in the Live Beyond Project — a father & son quest for longevity.
Discover Live Beyond →Phil Newman runs Longevity.Technology — one of the most-read voices in the field, a business of writers, researchers and analysts (plus a separate investment arm) that tracks where longevity is actually going. He belongs in Creating the Movement because his job is the one nobody else quite does: translation. Turning a fast, complicated science into something ordinary people can understand and use.
His company didn’t set out to educate consumers — it moved there because the demand appeared. “The most exciting thing right now is the appetite for consumers to learn more about longevity,” he told us. There’s an established wellness industry, and this is the next wave: people who want the real science, not just candles and spa days.
Phil is precise about who these people are. “They’re customers, not patients — they’re not ill, they just want to be as healthy for as long as they possibly can.” And that creates a gap. You get a biomarker panel back and most people can’t read it. So the field needs a missing layer: trustworthy guidance that helps people make sense of it all.
That, in the end, is the same problem Live Beyond exists to solve — making longevity accessible to everyone, not just the initiated. Phil is building the media and intelligence side of exactly that bridge.
We first met Phil at Longevity Summit Dublin in 2023 — one of the earliest interviews of the whole quest. He thinks like a publisher and an investor at once: clear-eyed about the hype, genuinely excited about the moment. He put words to something we kept running into everywhere — that the science is ready, but the translation layer for normal people barely exists yet.
“They’re customers, not patients — they’re not ill, they just want to be as healthy for as long as they possibly can. And they need guidance, because it’s highly complicated.”

Phil Newman · Longevity.TechnologyRight now it is educating everyday consumers. That wasn’t what we set out to do — we moved into it because the appetite is there.
Phil NewmanThey’re customers, not patients. They just want to be healthy for as long as possible.
Phil NewmanYou get a biomarker panel; most people won’t understand it. We need a missing layer of guidance.
Phil NewmanWe use the benefit of technology to scale — writers, researchers, business development, and a separate investment team.
Phil NewmanThree things Phil sees clearly.
The new longevity audience isn’t sick. They’re healthy people who want to stay that way for as long as possible — a fundamentally different relationship than medicine has ever had with the public.
“They’re not ill.”
Dublin · from the interviewData without interpretation is noise. A biomarker panel means nothing to most people. The field needs a trustworthy guidance layer — and building it is the interesting, unsolved work.
“We need a missing layer.”
Dublin · from the interviewA lean team using technology to scale: writers and researchers making the science legible, business development, and a separate investment arm reading where it’s all heading. Media as infrastructure for a movement.
“The appetite is there.”

The video interview is coming. Recorded interviews go live after the launch of the film & series Live Beyond.
Phil Newman was filmed at Longevity Summit Dublin, 2023. Passages from that conversation:
Phil Newman“Right now it is educating everyday consumers. That’s something we’ve moved into, because it wasn’t really what we set out to do at the beginning. The most exciting thing for us at the moment is the appetite for consumers to learn more about longevity. There’s a very established wellness industry — and this is the next wave.”
Phil Newman“This appetite is within consumers who are customers — they’re not patients, because they’re not ill. They just want to be as healthy for as long as they possibly can. And we all need guidance as well. It’s highly complicated. You get a biomarker panel, and most people won’t be able to look at it and understand it. So we need a missing layer.”
Phil Newman“We are a lean team, and we use the benefit of technology to scale things. We have a mixture of writers, researchers and business-development people — and there’s a discrete part of the business which is investment, completely separate, with its own team. We’re raising capital at the moment.”
