My why

Let's co-create a new culture — with longevity, health & joy woven into it.

I'd love to inspire people so deeply that they don't just change their own lives — they start growing the longevity field with me, and with the scientists, doctors, biohackers and healers lighting the way.

You don't need to be a scientist or a doctor. It's enough to start inspiring others — to become a longevity advocate. Together we can call on governments, institutions and businesses to support longevity science and build the structures it needs to grow.

Because what could matter more than more wonderful time with the people we love, in this beautiful world all around us?

From brands to longevity

Two decades building brands. Now helping longevity grow.

For over twenty years I lived in the world of brands — running top advertising agencies, at one point leading a team of ~80 people building Poland's digital field from the ground up, and working as a marketing strategist, CEO and CMO in robotics.

I worked with and learned from: LVMH · Coca-Cola · Nike · Samsung · Sony · Danone · Nestlé · J&J · P&G · Orange · MTV · KFC · Burger King

Then, at a conference in San Francisco on Extreme Future Technologies, I sat among scientists mapping the next 30 years: asteroid mining, orbital solar, cryonics — and longevity. That was the moment longevity took hold of my heart. I decided to go all-in — to help us live at least 200 years — and to put everything I learned into the brands that matter most: the scientists, the longevity field, and the companies working to give us more life.

The quest

A father & son quest for the secrets of longevity

On 15 August 2023, my then-17-year-old son Aleksander and I set off on a one-year journey around the world — longevity clinics, Blue Zones, high-tech labs, top universities, and 100+ of the field's leading minds. Two generations. Two views on longevity. One shared quest.

We came back with the Longevity Map, unforgettable experiences, deep friendships within the longevity family — and a mission to empower everyone with what we learned.

The Longevity Map

A helicopter view of the whole field

During the Quest I created the Map of the Longevity Game — one simple picture of the entire field, so anyone can see how it all fits together and finally start to understand it. The Map became the framework for everything that followed: the movie, the series, the book — and the mission behind them.

Ask Marek

The questions people always ask me

When people find out what we did, they ask the same things. Here are my honest answers — and short films for each are on the way.

What’s the one thing you learned on the whole quest? video soon+
There was no one thing — there’s no magic bullet, and anyone selling you one isn’t telling the truth. Prevention matters enormously, and it’s exactly the thing we all neglect. But honestly? The most important thing I learned didn’t come from a scientist or a brilliant doctor. It came from my son. On the road I learned resilience in relationship — how to stay close through the hard days, how we kept choosing each other. That’s the lesson I carry, and it’s the whole reason Live Beyond is about living longer with the people we love, not just living longer.

As we travelled, I was filling in the blanks of one big picture — the Longevity Map, a helicopter view of the whole field. Come learn it with us. And there’s much more to share: more of these conversations are coming in the film & series and the book.
What’s the number-one hack to live longer? video soon+
Treat your mind, heart and body as a temple — not a trash bin. It really is that simple: make the right choice every day. Before anything, just ask yourself, “Is this good for me, or bad for me?” — and choose well. And remember it’s not only the body: it’s the mind and the heart too, which most people forget. Living by that one rule alone can give you twenty extra healthy years. So do it — don’t waste your one life.

Isn’t living longer bad for the planet — won’t we overpopulate? video soon+
It’s the question I get most — and Raiany Romanni answered it beautifully when we spoke with her. The truth is the opposite of what people fear. Overpopulation isn’t the threat: in many countries, especially across Europe, the population could fall by half within eighty years — and when that happens, the social systems that hold society together begin to collapse. Healthy longevity is one of the great answers to that. And there’s a second reason I call longevity a savior of the environment: today’s decision-makers don’t act on climate because the worst of it lands on their great-grandchildren, not them. The day they start living twenty or thirty years longer — long enough to face those consequences themselves — they’ll finally protect the planet, because they’ll be protecting their own future.

Which clinic should I go to? video soon+
First, check that the clinic is credible. Look at the doctors — do they speak at serious events, publish, share their knowledge openly? Are they trusted? Then a warning sign: if you walk in and they immediately try to sell you supplements, walk out. A good clinic starts with thorough diagnostics, across several areas:
  • Bloodwork — a deep panel, 100+ biomarkers.
  • Imaging — full-body MRI, DEXA, CT, ultrasound of the organs, ideally some under stress.
  • Physical exam — strength, mobility, eyes.
  • Genetics — they really matter.
  • Functional & mental tests — cognitive, psychological, and real time with a psychologist. Remember: mind, heart and body.
Then make sure it’s not one doctor reading your results, but a whole team who sit together and find the patterns. And it can’t be a one-off: they should see you regularly, prescribe only based on your actual results, help you act on them, and refer you onward when needed. In our Clinic Directory we list a few we visited ourselves — there are surely more great ones around the world; we just have to go, check them, and then we’ll tell you.

What were the most special places you saw? video soon+
Rapa Nui — Easter Island. Extraordinary energy from a tiny island at the very end of the world; you fly to Santiago in Chile, then six more hours into the middle of the ocean. For three days my heart was in my throat. I asked a local healer why the energy was so strong, and she said: first, the three volcanoes the island was built on; and second, the moai — the great stone statues — which weren’t built for spiritual reasons but to honor the ancestors. That, and the raw power of the open ocean. Unforgettable.

New Zealand — the most beautiful nature in the world. On the South Island everything is beautiful; you want to stop every twenty minutes just to look. Milford Sound and its thousands of waterfalls, lakes cradled in mountains, and landing in Queenstown that feels like a fairy tale. The people are warm, it’s the adventure-sports capital of the world, and I loved how the Māori and everyone else live alongside each other and support one another.

Japan — endlessly different and interesting: the culture, the food, the way people dress (Tokyo may be the fashion capital of the world). Kyoto’s temples are enchanting; Tokyo looks like a 1980s science-fiction film. And the language — I’d only ever heard Japanese barked in war movies, but spoken softly in real life it sounds like singing.

Where in the world is longevity science really booming? video soon+
I knew Singapore and California were the epicenters — but the real surprise was how much is happening in Boston, New York, and especially in Britain: London, Oxford and Cambridge. The Babraham Institute near Cambridge alone has around two hundred scientists working on longevity and aging — that’s where I walked with Staša Stanković. I came home hopeful that more and more of these epicenters will keep growing all over the world.

It takes a village

To reach longevity in our lifetime, we need the whole village

When we sent people to the Moon, it wasn't only the engineers. Whole cities grew around the mission; whole industries were born. Longevity is the same. The more people who join the field, the better for all of us. I chose to join as a communicator and storyteller — my job is to help the good guys grow.

My mission, in my own words

I spent twenty years learning how to make people want things — for the world's biggest brands. It was a good life. But at a conference in San Francisco, sitting among scientists mapping the next thirty years, something shifted in me. I realised I could use every bit of what I'd learned for the one thing that actually matters: helping us live longer, healthier and more fulfilling lives.

So I took my son, and we went to find the people who know. A hundred of them, across thirty-nine countries. They became our friends. And the more time I spent with them, the clearer it became — this science needs a voice. It needs someone to carry it out of the labs and into people's hearts, and to give these brilliant people the spotlight and support they deserve.

I don't want to reach the future alone. I want to build it with Alek, and with you. That's why Live Beyond exists: to co-create a new culture, with longevity, health and joy built in. I'd love for you to be part of it.

From the conversation

Marek Piotrowski, in full

Selected passages from Marek’s own account of the Quest — the decision, the Map, the hard days with Alek, and what he actually carries now. Read the whole interview ↗︎

On the moment he decided to go

The questionWhat made you take a year off and cross the world with your son?

Marek Piotrowski“The moment with Alek came at the end of 2022. He walked up to me and said, ‘Hey, Daddy, I’m ready for a gap year.’ We were in a cafe and I just lit up. I took a napkin and started drawing — the biggest centres of longevity research, connected into a route around the world. That napkin was our first map. My family said he’d fall out of the system. I said: yes — that’s exactly the point. You have to get out of the system and create your own path.”

On where the Longevity Map came from

Marek Piotrowski“As I researched, I saw that the knowledge of longevity is fragmented. There are experts in a hundred separate fields, but nobody had drawn the helicopter view — one picture of the whole thing. And it’s not just the science of ageing. It’s the healers with thousands of years of tribal knowledge. It’s the biohackers. It’s the people who’d never call themselves longevity — the psychedelic therapists, the cosmetologists, the meditation teachers. So I said: I need to draw a Longevity Map.”

On why prevention is the bridge

Marek Piotrowski“Don’t die from something stupid. Most of what kills us develops in us for twenty or thirty years. If someone says their uncle ‘suddenly’ died of cancer, it’s almost never true — he had it for decades and didn’t know. If we don’t do regular diagnostics, we’re choosing to die of these diseases unconsciously.”

On the hardest part of the whole year

The questionWhat was the biggest lesson?

Marek Piotrowski“I thought our relationship was perfect. Then we started the journey and I was shocked: where is my son? We had our worst clash in Australia, half a year in, on a beach, and I was devastated. I walked off alone recording my thoughts into a GoPro. And he said, ‘Dad, I don’t want to go. You need space; I don’t. And you have to understand — life together won’t always be pretty.’ Then I noticed something: after a tension, Alek forgot it in fifteen minutes. I was the one digging in. So I decided to do what he did. That was the miracle that changed everything. One: we love each other. Two: we want the best for each other. Everything else is just a misunderstanding.”

On George Church, and who this is for

Marek Piotrowski“The most important encounter for me was George Church. I told him I’d always promised Alek that in his thirties we’d look and feel like brothers — and I asked, when? He said: ‘In twenty years the science should be there.’ And when I worried that the gene therapies would cost millions, he was clear that he does not want to work in a field where only rich people can reach the medicine — ageing will kill most of us, so whatever works has to be affordable.”

On what he actually lives by now

Marek Piotrowski“Treat your mind, heart and body as a temple — not as a trash bin. Most people already know how to eat, move and sleep better. They just don’t do it; they prioritise convenience over their own longevity. Second, use the Map — do everything you can, little by little. Third, prevention is king. And fourth: gym, gym, gym. I loved every sport except the gym, because it wasn’t fun. It turns out strength training is one of the most important things you can do.”

On what he hopes it all inspires

Marek Piotrowski“I hope people see themselves in us — that we’re explorers charting this world of longevity for them, that we’re genuine, that we’re not selling anything. People don’t want to be robots living by a spreadsheet; they don’t want to be biohackers, they want to be bio-slackers. They want to live fully — to live beyond. So my wish for you is simple: be bold. Change the way you look at the world, and the world around you changes. Find your purpose, and fight for it.”

Ogimi, Okinawa · October 2023

What Okinawa taught them

Two and a half months into the quest, in a village in the Okinawan blue zone, they set a camera down on the beach with nothing planned. They talked about the sauna and the cold plunge they had found again after a month of moving, about the villages that empty in the daytime because everybody is keeping out of the sun, about the shops that sell whiteners where Europe sells bronzers. And then Marek asked his son about the one thing neither of them had expected.

Marek“One pretty unexpected thing, mainly for Alek, was that when you travel, you start missing your hometown and home country more and more.”

Aleksander“I just wanted to escape our country and study abroad… But now, as we are already two and a half months into our trip around the world — I feel homesick.”

A gap year built to take a seventeen-year-old away from Poland had, in ten weeks, made him want to go back to it.
