Choices — what is actually worth it

Knowing what to do is the easy half. The hard half is standing in front of a shelf, or a website, or a clinic’s price list, and deciding what to buy, what to take, and what to ignore. Nobody answers that honestly, because almost everybody who answers it is selling something.

This is where we will.

Start here

Longevity is a game — and we want to help you make the right choices to win it

Every day you make choices, and every one of them either lengthens your life or shortens it. What you eat, how you sleep, whether you move, what you take, what you get checked, who you spend the evening with. Nothing is neutral.

Most people are playing without ever being told the rules. So they play badly, through no fault of their own, and lose years they never knew were on the table. Learn the rules, become a player, and you start winning.

This page is where the rules turn into decisions. We tell you what the rules are, we help you learn them — and then we help you make the actual choice, on the actual shelf, in front of the actual price list. The guidance comes from us, and from the scientists, doctors, biohackers and healers we met along the way. And nothing goes up until the doctor who reviews these pages has read it and put their name on it.

Four questions

What will be here

Each one opens as it is ready. Nothing appears before it has been checked.

soon

What to take

Supplements, and the small number that have anything behind them.

  • What the evidence actually says, in a sentence
  • What a sensible dose looks like
  • What it interacts with
  • And the ones we think are not worth your money
soon

What to use

The devices, wearables and equipment people ask about most.

  • What it measures, and how well
  • Whether it changes what you would do
  • What the cheaper version misses, if anything
  • What it is genuinely good for, and what it is not
soon

Is this good for me?

The question people actually type at midnight. Sauna, cold, fasting, a treatment a clinic offered.

  • What it does, plainly
  • Who it suits and who it does not
  • What the honest uncertainty is
  • What to ask your doctor before you start

Where to go

Clinics, tests and practitioners — beginning with the four we walked into ourselves.

  • This one is already open — and it is only the beginning. The four clinics we walked into, and the questions worth asking at the desk. Much more is coming there: more clinics, in more countries, what each one really tests for, and what a visit costs
  • Coming there: what a visit costs, roughly
  • What each clinic really tests for, and how we experienced it
  • What to bring, and what to bring away

The promise

Nothing appears here until it has been checked

We are appointing the doctor who will review these pages — the role is defined and we are raising the funding for it, and we would rather say that plainly than imply somebody is already in the chair. Until they are in place and named here, these sections stay closed. They will read everything on these pages before it goes up, and their name will be on it. That is the whole point of the section. Longevity has no shortage of opinions; it has a shortage of people willing to put their name against one.

We say when the evidence is thin

Most of it is. Where something is promising but unproven, the page will say so in those words rather than hiding it behind enthusiasm.

We say what we are not sure about

Where good people disagree, you get both positions and who holds them — not a verdict we do not have.

You will know who checked it

Every page carries the name of the person who read it and the month they read it in. If something changes — a new trial, a better answer — the page changes, and says so.

None of this is medical advice, and none of it knows anything about you. It is meant to make you a better customer and a better patient — someone who walks in knowing what to ask.

What should we check first?

This section gets built in the order people ask for it. If there is a supplement, a device or a treatment you keep wondering about — tell us, and it goes near the top of the list.
